Exhaust Manifold Leak

How do you know if you have this wonderful problem? I think I hear something that sounds like an exhaust leak and I'm 95% sure that it's not coming from my Volant Exhaust.

I'm just wondering what to look for......

If it sound like a tick and gets faster with rpm speed, then it is an exhaust leak somewhere.

Go to a long strip mall or grocery store or something, turn your radio down, open your window and drive next to the wall. Make a couple of passes with both sides closest to the wall. THis will amplify the ticking sound of the exhaust manifold leak. If you hear something, get under there with a piece of paper and hold it around the joints and see if you get a flutter against the paper.

There is another way that it can be done, but it would involve taking the heat shields off and the fender skirts off to check the exhaust manifold.

Normally, the truck will throw codes, but not always. I have seen some that threw codes with a leak that could barely be detected and some that had a hole half the size of a dime and it NEVER illuminated.
