i know this isn't the rear end because it happened before i changed to tru trac, and it is happening now as well....i feel a vibration in the gas pedal and my left mirror shakes pretty good at around 40 mph...it goes away and then gets real bad at around 80...then if you go higher ,,say 90 and above it goes away again...and when i am coming to a stop the steering wheel shakes a little and i dont feel like the truck has as good of stopping power as it did....this all started around the time that i really laid on the brakes one day around 2 months ago....it has gotten progressively worse since then....i think it might be a brake problem but since i have a 07 i thought the brake judder problem doesn't hit those years(07,08)...could it just be a tire balance/out of round problem?i am going to take it in soon but wanted to hear what you guys think it might be........i have a banks and injen intake but it didn't cause vibration like i have heard some have caused other owners.....thanks for replies in advance........ :)

Actually it sounds like you have two different problems. first the vibration at 40 then 80 is a balace problem with the tires. The shaking when braking could be warped rotors.

i really laid into the brakes so i thought it could be the rotors but the vibration at the certain speeds made me think differently.....thanks...

Hard braking can cause the best OEM brakes to warp, ESPECIALLY if they are cool and then heat up very rapidly. This can also happen if you get the brakes hot and then they get cooled off quickly with water.

thats not funny....lol
stephen do you think that balance would cause the shaking at 40 and 80 or could that be warped rotors doing that too....?

man my wheels have the weights that are stuck on with the 3m tape and these hot temps will make them just fall off. I had lost the ballance weights off of my tires and my truck did the same thing yours is doing, except for the brake judder thing. I would get the tires balanced and see if that fixes that part.

i never looked at the rims to see if the weights were still there....great idea...i will look tomorrow morning...that would do it.....

i never got the headers yet....someday i will ...lol......i already checked them and the transmission to motor bolts and checked the front end for loose bolts in suspension system and the drive shaft for play or worn ujoints....nothing...its going to be warped rotors and a balance /cheap tires problem.....thanks for the advice hulk.....

well i dropped my truck off thursday afternoon to the dealership to fix the brakes and the vibration......when i got the call friday afternoon i figured it was something simple.......here is what they found..........they said my front brake rotors needed to be turned and they rotated and rebalanced my tires.......i questioned the fact that they just turned the rotors without replaceing the pads and they said if the pads were worn down then i would of had to pay for them to be replaced....i told them that any time the rotors are resurfaced they should put new pads on so the surfaces will match and there wont be pulsations due to spaces between the rotor and pads and they just smiled and said the problem was fixxed......they charged me 39$ to rotate and balance the tires........my right rear tire has half the tread as the rest.....i tried to tell them that the truck only has 15k on it and the tires are already starting to chip tread off and the one tire is really worn down already and they said i should have been rotating them and it wouldnt have happened......i know i should have rotated them but in only 15k these tires are not holding up very good.....they said i should change my oil every 3k even though i told them i was running rp and had a fram 7500 mile oil filter.....and they just like i thought made me feel like nothing in my truck would be covered under the 36k warranty........they really push for you to get extended warrantys and then when its time to use it they fight tooth and nail for everything....i havnt tested it yet to see if it fixxed the problem....will update after test drive..........

I hate it when they try to make it sound like EVERYTHING is directly the fault of the owner. Sorry you're having so much trouble, man.

they are the same as insurance companys, and mail in rebate companys....they are real nice and try and sell you ..but when time comes for them to do something 4 you then they try and make it so hard that you just give up on it....so you have to just stay persistant to get results....that is a shame that it is that way...the brakes do feel good again ....and the shake has gotten alot better but it isnt right still....i know that the tire is the problem.....
