View Full Version : For those wanting to dyno at Old Town...

For all of you you who are wanting to dyno your trucks at old town, as you know, I will be operating the dyno.

Since we are limited in time and on the number of pulls here is what you need to do to get your best nubmers. The night before AND/OR the morning going to Old Town, try to get in some full throttle runs. Do NOT do it in a manner to get a ticket, but you need to do a couple of WOT starts up to about 45 or 50 if possible. Here is the best thing to do. Get your truck running around 60 mph, put the truck into 3 gear and then floor it, hold it there for a bit and then let off coasting back down to 60. Then do it again.

Do this a couple of times and then once you get to old town and let it sit for a while, it will be ready to run! While you are at Old Town try to avoid sitting and idling, this is BAD to put the truck into economy mode. So if you are in the audio contest, I would recommend you guys doing this AFTER you have dyno'ed.

if your not sure if you can make it are you out of luck on the dyno if you come at the last min. i am guess with it being prepay presignup there wont be any open slots? but if someone dosnt show up can you buy there spot?

You can pay at the meet it will just be more expensive, apparently lots of people did this at OT3, I was the last person to show even though I pre-paid.

It is $50 if you pay at OT.

Hey Shailey what about reving it up the day of. Will that help get it out of economy mode??

There are a couple people that have bought 2 dyno pulls just so we could get the prepays full and get the dyno. They will prob be selling the pulls they dont use.

Also as White said you will be ableto purchase dyno pulls the day of the meet. $50 a run, which is still a good price.

Shailey will be running the trucks on the Dyno so you won't have to worry about it, last time we got out right before the dyno and the guy took the trucks up on the dyno, chained them down and did the runs.

dont sweat it there should be plenty of time for you guys to run on te dyno the guy tht owns the dyno is a friend of mine and as long as there is time he will run as many as it needs be im sure he wouldnt be against making more money.

I have dyno'ed one or two times in my life so we will be able to get some pretty good numbers. yes, you can run the truck the day of and get it running good, in fact, I highly recommend it the day of. What you don't want is to go run the hound out of it and then get straight on the dyno. You will get your best numbers by getting it out of econo mode and then letting it cool down quite a bit.

I couldn't have sold it to a better person, and I can't wait to see what your truck pulls. When you pull it up to be dynoed, I'm going to have a slice of GCC & a cold glass of milk.
