DFW Meet Oct 6

Updated Meet Info

We are having our next meet on Saturday, October 6. We will meet at 6704 Estados Rd. Lucas Tx.(.This is the property of a friend of Kopperking's.) We will have an "honorary" guest at this meet. Kopperking's Father-in-law, who is a Titan fanatic in his 80's from Ohio, will be there to experience a Titan meet. I hope that there will be a large turnout for this meet, as I'm sure that he would love it.

The meet starts at Noon on Sat.

We are going to do a cookout like we usually do. Ray will be cooking up some of his terrific ribs for anyone wanting to have some (considering you let us know you want some by sending money). As usual, it will be BYOB for drinks.

PAYMENT INFO-
Alright, we are going to do $10/person for ribs and $5/person for burgers/hot dogs. If you're bringing wife/GF, kids, friends, etc., it will be the same pricing for them if they want to have some of the grub. Make sure to give a head count when you chime in. The Paypal address to send to is BigRedTitan@prodigy.net. Deadline for payment is Saturday September 29. I will then give Ray the total and who wants what.


Everybody brings their own drinks. Anyone (that will definitely be there) that wants to bring condiments, napkins, sidedishes, desert, etc., chime in. I will bring plates and forks/knives/spoons.

Looks like it's gonna be a cookout. Weekends Grill is temporarily closed for renovations until early 2008. I saw this on their website when I went there to check out their menu.

I have a good sized charcoal grill I will bring. Of course, I've already volunteered to cook. Now we just have to figure out if everyone is bringing their own meats or if BigRedTitan will setup a paypal deal on this. I think this is what was suggested on another occassion.



We can do it either way. If we do the paypal thing, we need to come up with a per person price, then when we hit the deadline I can let Ray know how much we have. I will let Ray get the meat, as he knows what he likes to grill.

Looking at Park amenities the Mckinney park - Wins!

Towne Lake Recreation Area and Wilson Creek Softball Complex - 1401 Wilson Creek Parkway
McKinney's premier park area. Park amenities include a 22 acre lake, lighted hike/bike trails, two picnic pavilions, restroom/concession services, playground, two sand volleyball courts, nine lighted horseshoe courts, parking areas, fishing pier, paddleboat rentals, six lighted recreation softball/baseball fields; barrier free handicap accessible. (108 Acres)

ALSO since one of our members is one of McKinney's Finest, we'll either be the First protected, or the First Harrassed?!!

Now, I will Scope it out today, and report back, unless somebody is Closer?

OK GUYS, Bad NEWS! I just got a call from Kopper (Sean). He is taking his day in between jobs at work to visit various sites. The one in McKinney is all booked up every weekend and is out of the question.

He is still looking so guys hang in there and if it changes we will let you know. I for one say the H*ll with it and move it back closer to the DFW area Sean? Is that ok with you? How about Hot Rods and Hogs again? Up to you guys.........just a suggestion.

This is making me Sick.
I went by the Wilson Creek park, and the only area that has any Considerable parking is at the softball fields.
I checked with the Community center and they said Both Pavillions are Booked, and with the little parking and Saturday Ball games, I don't want some McKinney Yahoo to Accidentally "Breathe" on my truck (this is Cause for Scratches!!!)

Irwin park was suggested, but John says he gets lost everytime trying to find it (However he gets lost going to the restroom)
Its supposed to be off of Lake forest drive north of Hwy 380 "about three miles", I didn't get to check it out.

Bob Woodruff park is off Shiloh and Park in Plano and has Ample parking, but its roughly 5-7 miles off Hwy 75 (east)

Which brings me back to Lake Ray Hubbard.

Lake lewisville (is rumored) to have alot of "Trash in the Trees" from the summer's flooding, and Grapevine still sucks.

I'm just SICK.
