There is a way to prolong wiper life. If you get a clean rag & full strength washer fluid. Clean the wipers with the washer fluid every few weeks. Believe me it works.

Waxing your windshield prolongs both your wipers and your wiper motor. Yes, I have waxed my windshields. I even have special polish and wax for them.

Oops, called them the wrong things. Instead it is:
Fine Glass Polish (http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=11017)
Glass Polish (http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=11063)

The '08 wiper blades have something like Rain-X on them. the windshield will bead water, but only on the ares that the wipers go. Rather strange, but very nice since i can see a lot easier.

Are you asking about the polish? If so, I don't think it would build up. As far as I know, polish is not like wax which does leave something behind. The polish has stuff in it to smooth out the windshield and when it is buffed off there isn't anything left. At one point I thought that their description of their polish said it would take out small scratches, but I don't see that anymore.

I just dont like the rainx in a light rain at night. It seems to get a film on the windshield. The last time I used it I had to pull over & find some sand & wipe it all over the windshield to clean the rainx off so I could see.

I use a leather/vinyl to clean the wiper blades. plus it helps keep them plyable so they contour the wind sheild. thats what i was told and it seems to work

rubbing alcohol brings them back to life...just be careful and do not get the funk thta comes off the blades on you or your clothing because it will NOT come out of clothes and is tough to get off you as well!

Well now I have a use for all the fiber cleaning alcohol we don't use at work anymore. The new technology is very sensitive to how clean the connections are and we use a dry cleaning/polishing method so we have a lot left over.
What brands of blades does everyone use? and are they worth the price?
