ok everyone did great with the bug removal so i figure i would throw this one out. i cannot for some reason get my windows clean without having streaks in them. i have used windex and a few other products but they all steam th streak.
i keep my truck pretty clean except for my windows.

I am currently using Stoner's Invisible Glass. So far it is working pretty good. A lot of streaking has to do with your technique and what you are using. Start with a clean rag that has been folded over a couple of times. When I clean my rags I do not use any fabric softener or dryer sheets. Spray the window, but don't use too much. Wipe down the window with one side of the rag until you don't see any wet spots. Now wipe down the window again but with the dry side of the rag. I think that the second wiping is key to the whole thing.

Um, I'm using cotton diapers that are a good 14 years old. Oddly enough, my oldest son is 14. My wife still thinks we had kids just so I could get good rags. LOL!
I think I got the Invisible Glass at Walmart.

Actually, I have a stack of those diapers as well, and they do make excellent rags for the truck since they're so soft. I think you can still get them at Babies 'R Us and places like that.

Also wash your windows in the shade if your not doing so already. I washed mine in the sun once and I kept getting nasty streaks.

Yea you have to do It in the shade. Also have you tried newspaper for your windows? Don't use it on your side mirrors. I did that once on my xterra and had swirl marks all over them.

I've tried all kinds of stuff and invisible glass is about the best glass cleaner out there. I have bought it at Walmart, in the automotive section and Auto Zone. I've used microfiber cloth which seems to streak, and just small white towls which probably work the best I got them at Costco, I think 50 of them for about $10. I don't bother washing them, just throw them away when they get dirty. One of the keys to a really clean windshield is to clean it, then move the truck and clean it again because no matter how good I think my windshield is I pull it out of the garage the next morning to go to work and see all the streaks and places I missed and I'm like dangit!

Use the cloth ones. The disposable ones don't work so well. Oh yeah, and in case you have kids in diapers, the diaper needs to be clean. LOL!

If you wear glasses and have the anti-reflective coating you should avoid using anything with ammonia. A few years back I cleaned some windows with a glass cleaner that contained ammonia and some of the overspray got on my glasses and left spots that wouldn't come out. The place I bought my glasses from confirmed that ammonia was the culprit.

Do you smoke? Nicotine will build up on the windows and takes extra elbow grease to get out.

i use stoner invisible glas and a green microfiber towel i got at walmart its fo cleaning glass. and the info about amonia is correct use it and say goodbye to your tint. for your windows that arent tinted if you have stuff on them that wont come off get some 0000 steel wool it will take everything off and not scratch the glass but DO NOT USE IT ON THE TINTED WINDOWS YOU WILL RUIN THEM! also never wash truck in the sun or just after being in the sun for a while the sheet metal and glass needs to be cool.

Here's a question. A couple years ago when I was laid up after rotator cuff surgery my service writer cleaned my windows with ultra-fine steel wool then cleaned with normal window cleaner. Is this safe? I asked him and he said he had been doing his own windows like that for years and never had a problem. My windows stayed real clean for a while and I didn't have the wiper ring around the windshield either. I use the Stoners Invisible glass in the shade, more like at night, a couple times then get a good polish in with a dry fine microfiber cloth.

yes this is perfectly safe as long as the window is not tinted. it is an old detailers trick for getting hard water spots off the outside of the glass. you have to flood the glass with cleaner then use the steel wool and wipe then spray again lightly and wipe. do not use on tint it will scratch it. i used to clean my windshield like that untill i tinted it too. so now i cant use that trick on any of the insides of the windows. my wife hates my truck at night with the 15% all arround and 50% on the windshield its nice and dark plus my truck stays cool even parked in direct sunlight plus no glare from headlights anymore. just remember this is illegal in most states to have the ws tinted all the way most places only allow a 6" strip at the top but the 50% is so light you can hardly tell.
