This is the first time in years that I was broken down psychologically over a college football game.
The day had all the ingredients of a terrific day. Friends from Orlando up in Tally to visit. All of us hanging out in the sorority estates pool (my apartment @ West10), 100 beers, 10 close friends, more beautiful girls around than I could imagine.
All crashing down when Blue lost to ASU.. I'ms orry guys but I'm broken down. Stab me, kick me when I'm down.. this is it. I'm at a NCAA lowest. So much hope for a terrific season ****ed down the drain. Inability to cover the spread whatsoever. Underestimated a 2 time defending FCS/DI-AA team with a QB that runs a 4.3/4.4. Hart went out for a BRUISE.. leads to a fumble since he was out when down 11 points. Ridiculous.
Lloyd Carr MUST go. Last season, I was among the last 1/2 of Michigan fans that defended Carr's coaching ability with stats. Stats won't save him from the fans anymore. He has got to go. Complete inability to evolve with college football. He's calling the same plays as 15 years ago, rough it out with a workhorse RB, some mid posts, deep bomb. Throw in a couple of HB/WR screens, there's the whole Michigan offensive playcalling. Don't even get me started on D. Our secondary looked like complete CRAP. This also helped App State run all over us with our secondary lost. Complete inability to adapt to the spread.
I'm at a lost for words, thank God I can vent on here by typing. I'm taking a break from a beautiful day at the pool just to vent. I need to shotgun some more beers, peace, I'm going to drink my troubles away.
FIRE CARR FIRE CARR FIRE CARR.
Getting Carr fired this season is MORE important than beating Ohio State for me personally now.. now that's saying something.

A SINGLE TEAR?
Are you a UM fan in Tallahassee or FSU fan from Michigan, or both?
Whatever you are, I sincerely feel for you. Unbelievable!! Appalachian state is a much better team than the casual fan would know....
But opening day? Against (a very good, but still) 1-AA team! IN the Big House? :o
This is what makes College football so incredibly exciting!
My condolences bro. :(

JOEY!!! I told you on the other thread. Shut down the PC, turn off the TV, don't touch a newspaper, and stay away from the watercooler.
Now go to bed and we will keep you in our prayers! ;)

Born and raised a Wolverine, my dad worked at UM when I was younger. When I was about 5 or 6, dad took me to every home game with season tickets at the Big House. Wolverine ever since. Lived in Harper Woods, about 10 minutes from Gross Point (sp?).
Moved to Florida after Michigan, going to college at FSU so naturally a Seminole.

I'm still shocked, I'm in a weird drunken state atm. I'm highly alert and hot tempered. I feel like I did before going out on the field during my high school footballs games.
Did you listen to Lloyd Carrs press conference?
"Too many missed opportunities" - Lloyd Carr
Tell me about it, that pretty much sums up half of your coaching career at Michigan. MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. Missed opportunities against Ohio State, in bowl games. The only games that matter. You can work your butt off in the season over and over again but if you can't finish Ohio State and the bowl game, what does it matter if the season was good?

Hey in college football anything can happen. This was just Appy St's day. They had NOTHING to lose by playing Michigan.

Michigan is not dead yet. They win the rest of their conference games and who knows?
But man! What a way to start your season. We have a summer home on the West coast of Michigan (10 miles below Ludington) and therefore have a "connection" with UM. Though I think T likes MSU. His daughter is a huuuuuge UM fan!
Shoot, I even have a pic my mom took of me on our lake in Mich with a Wolverine hat on. I would never wear anything but a Gator hat but none were available and I have to protect the shaved head!
LOL...Even though you are a Nole, I still feel your pain for UM's loss! :(

Now I really do feel your pain man after reading all of that !! U outta see my 16 yr old daughters car. She has UM License Plates (front and rear). A UM chrome emblem, decals, keychains ... etc etc .. She even wanted to go to school there real bad.
We can help you erase these thoughts if you come down to the Old Town Meet on Oct 13th ? lol The meet usually just ends up being a big bashing fest between TN and FL .. lol
Heres what I have to put up with in our home: lol

You do know that Hall & Oates sings a song that goes by that name "Missed Opportunities". Maybe they should put togther some blupper video clips and play it to that song ? lol I feel your pain bro ... and so does my daughter .. lol
Is this the look you had on your face after the game ?

I disagree with the second half of your 1st sentence ! They made history in a way you surely don't want to .. and at home ! Bowl game yes ? National shot NO way ! Oh .. and yes .. I got accepted to both MSU and Florida. These were the only 2 colleges I applied to but still like MSU alot

Nice hat onTinkerbell T! You need to get a Gator hat on Roxie and post it for Dawg! He would poo in his pants too! LOL!
Oh my goodness! :o
When I said that UM is not dead yet, I wasn't talking National Championship game. I was talking an outside chance at a BSCS Bowl game IF they win the rest of their games. But my bad for not making that clear. :(
I had a hunch that is what u meant because u will FORGET more football than I will ever learn .. I just can't get over the OT TN/FL Bashathon that always goes down at OT .. lol Maybe we should rename the event ? lol

well i am here to say that um is dead this year...you dont come back from that.....i say they lose at least three more games and are going to be lucky to play in the outback or citrus bowl..you have the badgers, buckeyes, nittney lions ,and boilmakers who will probably have better seasons..that would put them 5th and out of any newyears day bowls much less bcs bowls......sorry wolvs just calling it as i see it.....thats why the gators are the gators is we schedule creampuffs usually in the first two games and we kill them...we dont let the game be close and we NEVER lose to them....this is the sign of a poorly coached team and a very suspect defense....

Sorry to hear that. I think it's just one of those things where Michigan went in thinking they were far superior and didn't have anything to worry about playing a I-AA team. ASU was pumped up and just really punched Michigan in the mouth and it was too hard for Michigan to turn it on. There is no doubt in my mind Michigan is a better team. Just one of those things. Heck, the same thing almost happened to Texas over the weekend.
