This recall is on the king cabs only. It is for the wire harness in the rear door. I dont know what year models it is for. Call the dealer & have them run your vin. if it has a recall then it will show up.

Dont get too mad at nissan. They do the recalls in stages. Ss the dealers get the part to fix the vehicles then they send out the notices. Otherwise the dealers would be inundated with recall cars & not enough parts to fix them all.

Yep and sometimes that can take a couple of months. Dealerships normally get that warning well in advance.

you would think that nissan knows about this problem well before they issue the recall and could send a bulletin to the dealers well in advance with at least a guess on how many vehicles are in their area that will be coming to them or at the verry least have the recall parts stocked in atlants or something so they could be nex dayed to the various dealers near that warehouse. i love the nissan vehicles but their customer service leaves something to be desired especially when it comes to something safety related.
i developed this feeling after the brakeline incident i had and nissan coorperate basically they didnt even want to hear about it. but what the hay they make some of the best vehicles on the road so i guess they can do that huh?
i got sold on nissan products when i drove my 20 yr old z 80 miles with a burned piston with the last 10 mi with zero oil and when i tore the motor down nothing was wrong but a quarter sized hole in the top of the #3 piston. i figured the crank would be fubar but it didnt even need polishing. granted it took 2 gallons of oil to get it home it didnt die till i pulled in my driveway!

I assume this was a 1984-1989 model 300ZX?
Those were notorious for being indestructable!!! One of the best 3.0 liters ever made

That is exactly what they do. They send a notice to all dealers with the range of VIN's that the recall affects, what the problem is, what the symptoms are and what to do to fix it. Then they start having their supplier ramp up on parts and send them out.

They send out enough to do the stock units first. Then the force feed the dealer enought to do I think its a quarter of the vehicles that are affected in you data base. You cannot order enough to do all the vehicles in you data base. You have to remeber that these parts are going out all over the us & they can only produce so much. That is why they do recall in stages. So that the demand doesnt over due the supply.
