View Full Version : Clock wont keep time...
Hopefully somebody can help me.
The clock on the titan keep reseting as if I disconnected the battery every time a start the truck. The catch is that the radio works fine all the presets stay the same only the clock resets, another weird thing is that it doesnt do it all the time.
??? ??? ??? ??? ??? thanks

You know the weird thing for me d0va.... I plug a fan in the back for my son so he doesn't sweat to death since the rear vents don't blow well at all. Funny thing is, when I turn the truck off with it plugged in and then turn the truck back on, it resets the clock. Doesn't do it with any other outlets ccept that one...hope someone chimes in for ya!
thats exactly what I did I bought my son a little fan too, and now that you say that since than started happening. Sometimes I disconnect the fan I guess thats when it doesnt reset :o ??? I guess there something wrong with the titan circuit.
Im not sure if I should go to the dealership... they probably dont have a clue about this? thanks man this has been driving me crazy ;D

Those are on the same circuitry. When something is plugged in, it causes a voltage drop from battery causing the memory to blank. The only way it won't do this is if you have something plugged in that pulls very little amperage or wattage.
In my opinion, it is a bad design for an alternative power outlet.

Thanks shailey, I wondered why!
What I did d0va was put a switch between the fan and the outlet. Instead of having to take the thing out every single time, I just turn the switch on or off before I get out of the truck. I used to pull that thing in and out all the time, but was getting tired of reaching back. It works well and my son stays cool! I think the design of the outlets for the vents could have been better and have their own fan control. Oh well, maybe the next model?

Well, if you have a capacitor installed for an audio system, that might help out.
I know I used to be able to run the headlines for about a minute after disconnecting the battery (until the cap was out of juice). It'd keep the voltage from dropping...
