Why yes... I have a little experience with their stuff. I got a Master Car Care Kit from them once (I think they still sell it), just to see how their comprehensive kit worked. I was impressed, but not sure it was worth the $200 +.

The polisher looks pretty good, and the price for additional pads seems reasonable. If you want a good polisher, I would suggest the Cyclo. It's a little more pricey, but very durable. Also, you can pick up a Porter Cable from your local Lowes/Home Depot, which is probably a lot like the one Griots is selling.

Hope this helps.

Hey PTY! Good to see you hear man! Are you coming to the Old Town meet? Oh, I think I saw you at my building one day... I know your Titan and your Tonneau cover. I think it was over at the Lake Point Medical Center on 436. You didn't come up to the 3rd floor, but possibly the MD office? Either way...good to see ya!

Hey PTY, where in Colorado are you at? Or did I already asked that? ???

I bought into the entire Griots Garage car finishing line. So far I like everything except the Best of Show wax. I have found it to be a complete pain in the butt to take the wax off. I use a machine to put it on and to take it off. I end up having to use the Speed Shine and a microfiber towel to remove patches of the wax that won't come off.

I have the Porter Cable 6" random orbital sander/polisher (formerly sold by Griots). It is very sturdy, doesn't bog down, has a nice long cord, but it is a bit on the heavy side. The new one sold by Griots is lighter and should work pretty well. The machine makes putting on the polish very, very nice. I also use it for the clay bar.

There is a retail store near me that sells Griots products so I now buy there instead of from the web site. Their shipping cost was a bit higher that I thought it should be.

I'm in Ft. Collins,...are you in Denver??...Thanks for the info. What retail store sells their products? I hadn't paid any attention to how much they charge for shipping yet.

I'm in a suburb a wee bit south of Denver. The retail store is Complete Garage (http://www.completegarage.com). The only store they have in Colorado is near the Tech Center.

not familiar w/that name. Here's the one I just bought: http://www.autodetailingsolutions.com/Porter%20Cable%20Specials.htm
It ran so smooth that it didnt seem aggressive enough.. but it really was. Took out some nasty scratches. I can tell you which pads to get w/it if interested.

Yeah, I'm definitely interested, I'll probably wont be purchasing it real soon but I will like to know if you got yourself a kit or which leveling agent are you using. Your avatar is still one of my favorites..

LOL thanks
I didnt buy the kit, but instead I pieced one together. That way I bought only the stuff I use the most. Meguiars makes specific polishes just for DA machines.
In case anyone's interested, here's the 3-step process that I use w/my DA machine (after I claybar it)

1 http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-cleaner-polishs/Body-Shop-Professional-Dual-Action-Cleaner-Polish (if there's no swirls or scratches i'll skip this step)
2 http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-cleaner-polishs/Speed-Glaze (if i'm in a hurry I skip this step)
3 http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-liquid-car-waxes/Synthetic-Sealant

Then I got a few different densities of the foam pads. The combination that removed my scratches is the w7006 pad and the #83 polish. It's so non-agressive it took a few minutes on speed #6 with moderate pressure to level my worst scratches. I originally got this product recommendation from LAfirefytr at CT who details cars.
(If you're ever out one state to your west stop by & I'll let you use it!)

Sweeeet...So that synthetic sealant you apply by hand right???...and that would be your last step...like wax.

nope.. you do it w/the DA machine. The products i listed are all DA machine products. On the back of the bottles it talks about using the sealer w/buffers & DA's (I'm sure you can do it by hand if you wanted to)
yes thats what i use as the last step. They say you can use a wax on top of it if you want. Like their nxt tech wax or their #26 yellow wax. Maybe I have bad eyes but I have a hard time seeing the difference of wax after the sealer. I'm sure it's even better. I just know the road salt used here in the winter trashes a nice yellow or carnuba wax job... so I usually just stop w/the polymer sealer. Besides by the time i'm done w/2 or 3 steps on the huge surface of the titan... the thought of another step kills me :o (especially bending over on top of a step ladder trying to reach the middle roof part above the windshield .... :o)

Oh right on...Thanks for explaining it...I would definitely feel that 3 steps would be more than sufficient.Hopefully I can get, all set-up, soon enough..I really want to get a polisher. Thanks again Jdog.

pty ur instincts are good the one from griots is the same as the p/c either way go out there and get it. i would pay the same amnt over again i like mine so much! you can use it to lay down and take off polish or wax! by the hrtkd i found a much better wax its made by one grand. just go to google and search one grand polish their site comes up. they are the premium wax and polish out there

Here is the One Grand Products (http://onegrand.com/ogpproducts.html) web site. They don't have a liquid wax though. I prefer the liquid since I apply and remove the wax with a machine.
