Here are the week 1 games in the conference.

Alabama vs. Western Carolina
Arkansas vs. Troy
Auburn vs. Kansas State
Florida vs. Western Kentucky
Georgia vs. Oklahoma State
Kentucky vs. Eastern Kentucky
Miss State vs. LSU
Ole Miss at Memphis
S. Carolina vs. LA Lafayette
Tennessee at California
Vanderbilt vs. Richmond

Most are the typical 1st week paycheck games, but the Auburn, UGA and UT games should be good! I almost want to lump Miss. State in there as a paycheck game against LSU - LOL. Sure do hate to see Sylvester Croom start another season by getting blown out at home...

It could get a little better for you SEC guys. They are talking about instituting a plus 1 playoff type system. I wouldn't hold my breath but that system would be much better than what it is now.

^^^^^I agree that the plus one system is much better than what we have...but I would rather see an 8 team play-off system in place. Would give some of the teams that lost a close game due to a stronger schedule, a key injury, or a horrific call a 2nd chance.

Polls and rankings put WAY toO much power in the hands of sportswriters and coaches that may not be objective or even holding grudges. Playoffs are the only way to really settle it on the field like all other major and minor championships do!

There's no doubt the coaches poll isn't objective. Look at Spurrier he votes for Duke every year and has said he will continue to do so because they gave a job when no one else would.

I think you're right about the 8 team playoff system. There's always someone who's gonna be mad. But I'll the plus 1 system 'til they figure out a true playoff.
