As you find new features that you think are HELPFUL and/or just plain cool, please post them here.
This thread has the intention of helping others that may be making a transition from another format.
I will start for instance since this was the MOST COMMON QUESTION I had to answer.
New posts = Upper left hand corner next to your avatar if you have one. It reads, "Show Unread Posts Since Your Last Visit"
Subscribed Threads = Upper left hand corner under new post feature. This will take you to all threads you have posted in.

Another one, on the tool bar at the top where it says My Messages, it gives you the number next to it so you know if there are any new ones.
Here's one..I clicked QUOTE to quote someone's message, and I was typing a reply...then when I clicked Post...it came back and said "A new message has been posted to this thread since you started typing..You may want to review that message and your post before you submit the post..then I had to click Post again.
Here is another one...you can go into your account settings and change your username anytime you want.

LOL THank you for reminding me. I just changed that one. We can't have people changing usernames to play jokes like we already had happening. LOL

You can set QUICK REPLY on your own. Go into your profile and click on Look and Layout Preferences. You will see it at the bottom and it has a drop down menu. Change it there.

If you want to stay on the same thread AFTER you post in it, go into the page that looks like the above screen and click on the "return to topics after posting" box.

You can change whether you see other peoples signatures or not. That will be friendly for faster page loading. You can also take pictures off the screen.

If you click twice on a post, it WILL NOT let you post again. It will tell you that you may have double clicked on it. I like this a lot. I set the time frame of double clicking to 90 seconds.

for the busy bees like myself you can click on the users online and it will then take you to a screen that shows where each member is viewing at that time.....what was the saying about curiosity....lololol

What is that "logged" sign in the right hand corner mean?
What is that "logged" sign in the right hand corner mean?
Your IP address is shown only to you and moderators. Remember that this information is not identifying, and that most IPs change periodically.
You cannot see other members' IP addresses, and they cannot see yours.

I did notice by accident that you can use atleast a little bit of irc code to show actions check out the example below.
.me says hi (now change the period to a / and see the difference)
says hi
Don't know what other actions work as I haven't been on IRC in years.

stephen due to some recent actions and happenings of others, not talking about members registered here, we may want to block some names that people can register under.

I agree. The last thing we want is for someone to use a name fictitiously and create posts that do not have merit.
