This is for anyone that has a 2007 Titan and uses scan equipment. Do NOT do so while driving. Just as they are supposed to the scan equipment does a check of all the dash lights to see what is illuminated. Well, turns out the truck does a check of the transmission light as well now and the results weren't good.
When my SES light came on, instead of pulling over and scanning, I chose to do it while going down the road...just as I had done many times before in my 05. I just plugged it in and hit scan. My dash lights came on, the tranny temp gauge went DOWN severely and then it sounded and felt like I just dropped my transmission. I have never felt anything hit so hard and it did not even downshift. There haven't been anymore problems since then, but I just thought I would give everyone else a heads up.
Just so I don't get asked, my gas cap was loose.
