Was just curious how many of you attended UF and when. I went there 1979, 80, and 81. Truly nightmare years for me. If my memory serves me right we went 0-10-1 my first year there. LOL...But I may be mistaken as I spent countless hours in electro-shock therapy trying to erase those memories form my mind.

I can't even recall when/if Kurk went to UF. I think I saw him 4x the entire time he claimed to have lived with me there.

never attended..but i would have if i could have......but i am orange and blue through and through..while living in jacksonville as a teen before they got the jags all they talked about was ncaa...and my friend turned me on to an old favorite...he took me to the swamp and that was all she wrote..ive been hooked ever since....go gators..

it was 1990..spurrier changed the field surface from artificial turf to grass..shane mathews was the qb..the first gator game i went to was in 89 at tampa stadium..against mississippi state...we won 21-3 i think..emmit smith had over 215 yards rushing...and galen hall was chewing on his fingernails on the sideline....that was 89 or 88 cant remember for sure..

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it the next year (91) that we won our first SEC title under Spurrier? Man, those were good times too!

The game I remember the most was when Charlie Ward hooked up with Dunn (or was it Peter Warrick) for that 87 yard TD (12 yard pass and some serious afterburners) to kill our comeback. It was the loudest crowd to most silent /disbelief/ticked-off crowd I have ever been a part off. Absolutely broke our back that day!

LOL! It looks like we are both losing our minds. Will never forget losing that game to FSU and yet winning our first SEC championsip game, but we sure can't remember the year!

I checked it out and you were right We lost to FSU on a Ward to Dunn pass in 1993. Finished 11-2. Went 8-0 in SEC games. Won our first SEC championship game Won the Sugar Bowl and finished 4th in coach's poll.

1991 was the first year we won the overall SEC league title but the SEC championship game was started in 1992 ...which we were in and lost to eventual National champions, Alabama.

i remember the sec championship game against bama..mathews was starting a drive late in the 4th quarter when he floated a lazy flats pass and it was picked off by antonio langam ..he took it to the house and we lost i think24-21..i think i cried...

Nebraska was on roids that year!....but it took a kid from (Palmetto) Florida, to QB Nebraska to beat UF that year.

At least we were there for our butt whoopin'! Not hearing anything from you about the next year though.

Yeah, kinda like those Hurricane glory years where everyone was claiming to be an long time Cane fan! My other brother Knute even tried to wear a Cane hat on our softball team one night before a tournament. Needless to say, he went 0-4 with an Easton up his butt!
