On just about every vB forum I've ever read, if you click on a member to see their profile, down in the lower right is will say "<Member> is not a member of any public groups."
How does one create or join a public group? What features are available to public group members? I'm just curious.

This is something I need to look into. I know what usergroups are, but haven't paid attention to the public groups.

Thanks Stephen! This is just another case of my curiosity getting the best of me.

Public Groups are just another layer in the User profile. There aren't any public groups currently, just the assigned groups of Mods/Super Mods/Admins/Sponsors/Spouses (as well as a couple others for specific purposes).

I was thinking it's be fun to set up some public groups, such as some of the following:
MT Runners
Sports Team's Fans
Residents of a particular State
IRC VK56 Members
L^3
Things like that.

MT Runners (HA HA HA HA HA)
Sports Team's Fans (all teams other than Tennessee do not matter any way)
Residents of a particular State (Tennessee and those moving to Tennessee are the only ones that need to be a part of this group)
IRC VK56 Members
L^3
Things like that.
nice ideas!!
